A Shakespeare Songbook, 3pm (finishes approximately 5pm)

Rowan Pierce (soprano), Ed Lyon (tenor), Christopher Glynn (piano)

This exquisite collection of settings by composers from Byrd to Britten, Morley to Vaughan Williams, explores the lyricism in Shakespeare’s poetry and evokes his worlds of magic and mystery. Rowan Pierce and Ed Lyon will be known to fans of lieder and opera: Rowan's recent roles, including Oberto in Glyndebourne's production of Alcina, and Ed's outstanding performance in the title role at Garsington's Orfeo will live long in the memories of those lucky enough to have been there. With them we are delighted to welcome back Grammy award winning pianist Christopher Glynn.

This is the first of two stunning concerts featuring some of the country's finest singers at Wycombe Abbey this November in our Shakespeare in Song programme; the second hour long programme starts at 6.30pm and features Elizabeth Kenny, Robin Blaze and Dickon Tyrell.

Between the two concerts refreshments will be available and, as an added attraction for our ticket holders, you are invited to a complimentary half-hour exclusive preview of ‘Shakespeare for Schools’ performances from the talented drama students of Wycombe Abbey at 5.30pm. Some of the equally talented art students from the school will also be putting together some stalls for your enjoyment during this time.

Combo Tickets provide access to all the events and offer the best value.
