Gabriel Jackson's mesmerising, radiant Requiem forms the centrepiece of Londinium's programme, which explores timeless themes of loss and rebirth in a powerful sequence of overwhelmingly affirmative music. Jackson interweaves the traditional Latin texts with words by poets including Whitman and Tagore, whose verses also feature in Vytautas Mišknis' haunting Time is Endless. Classic motets by Robert Ramsey and Herbert Howells respond movingly to the untimely loss of national heroes, while our programme is completed by works by Lassus, Schütz and Cecilia McDowall which speak of hope and consolation.

Wine is served in the interval.
