A granddaughter of the legendary German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Elena has been praised for her captivating stage presence. She found strength in playing Rachmaninov’s Moments Musicaux during the pandemic, and offers us the meditative No. 3, as well as the dramatic showpiece, No. 4. Before these are two Romantic sets of scenes and portraits. Schumann’s poetic Forest Scenes portray the contrasts of the forest as dark, mysterious and unknowable, yet also serene and beautiful. The pioneer French composer Mel Bonis was taught by Cesar Franck and composed her intimate portraits of notable women, including Desdemona, Ophelia and Salomé, throughout her career.

Ticket price includes tea, coffee and cake before or after the concert.
