Alongside popular Bach and Monteverdi, a cast of animated characters in foot-tapping Baroque music.

From Naples, a Monteverdi-ish pantomime based on the myth of the spider bite. Virtuosic angels confuse shepherds with echo jokes: a hypnotic Tarantella dance wards off the devil (and his butch demons) before ending at the crib. From Spain a ‘Xácara’: ‘ruffians and rogues, picaresque women - more high-spirited than criminal’. With castanets, percussion and guitars, ‘Bato’s little song’ brings the Devil down in flames!
