  1. 5 Stücke im Volkston, for cello and piano Op 102 - Robert Schumann
  2. Fuga temporis: variations on a theme by Beethoven - Vladimir Kobekin
  3. Sonata for cello and piano No 3 in A major Op 69 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Cellist Anastasia Kobekina and pianist Luka Okros play music inspired by the radical imagination of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Beethoven worked in an age of revolution, where every musical assumption was up for grabs. So his Cello Sonata No 3 is intimate and songful. But it’s also grand, tempestuous, playful and passionately romantic: chamber music on an heroic scale, and the perfect complement to Schumann’s spirited, soulful miniatures and Vladimir Kobekin’s utterly original homage to Beethoven.

'For me, a successful concert is when I feel a connection – when the message of the music reaches the audience' says cellist Anastasia Kobekina. And she makes that connection every time she plays: critics have praised this former BBC New Generation Artist for her 'overwhelming sincerity'. Her musical partnership with pianist Luka Okros is a true meeting of creative spirits.
