The Polish Opera in London returns to the stage with electrifying dances and enchanting Slavic melodies for a new take on Halka, the pioneering masterpiece that made Moniuszko a household name in Poland.

A innocent mountain village girl is taken advantage of by an aristocrat who then marries a woman of his own social rank, leaving the peasant girl pregnant and heartbroken.

This new production by director Jarek Zawartko marks the London debuts of the Polish singers Slawomir Naborczyk, Elizja Safjan, Leopold Stawarz and the Polish-Greek soprano Karina Trapezanidou Skrzeszewska.
