Born in Argentina, pianist and composer Silas Bassa began his studies at the age of five, moving to Buenos Aires to study at the Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Musica with Aldo Antonganzzi from the age of 18. Silas currently resides in Paris taking lessons with Monique Deschaussées and continues to perform worldwide.

In addition to mastering the traditional core piano repertoire, Silas is developing a reputation as a talented composer, working with a variety of different directors and choreographers across a range of mediums.

Silas released his third album to great acclaim in 2020, with his albums previously having held the top spot on the French charts for contemporary classical music and selected by Radio France as one of the best albums of the year. His beautiful playing is brought to the Spiegeltent this year where he creates a fascinating world, simultaneously both very modern and resolutely timeless with an eclectic programme featuring works from Satie, Duckworth, Piazzolla and Nyman.
