  1. Staggered Nocturne, concerto for percussion and orchestra (world premiere, Philharmonia commission) - Luke Bedford
  2. 4 Variations, for vibraphone and chamber orchestra - Philippe Hurel

The spotlight is on boundary-pushing percussionist Colin Currie, the man Steve Reich described as “one of the greatest musicians in the world today”, in this free early evening concert.

Be the first to hear Staggered Nocturne, a new concerto for percussion and orchestra composed with Currie’s extraordinary technique and engaging personality in mind. It was commissioned by the Philharmonia from award-winning British composer Luke Bedford, acclaimed for his “luminous soundworld” (The Guardian).

Then immerse yourself in French composer Philippe Hurel’s Four Variations, “a virtuosic anticoncerto for percussion and ensemble in which vibraphone [is] gradually submerged in a bright tapestry of sound” (The New York Times).
