  1. Passacaglia for solo violin in G minor, from Mystery Sonatas and Passacaglia - Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber
  2. Sonata for Violin and Piano No 7 in C minor Op 30 No 2 - Ludwig van Beethoven
  3. Sonata for solo violin No 5 in G Op 27 - Eugène Ysaÿe

2021 City Music Foundation Artist Violinist Yume Fujise brings a programme charting violin writing through history. Yume's programme sandwiches Beethoven's C minor Sonata for piano and violin with two examples of unaccompanied violin writing, beginning with Austrian baroque composer Biber's virtuosic Passacaglia and ending with a man once described as 'King of the Violin', Eugène Ysaÿe and his Sonata No 5 in G major.

In the splendour and stillness of the Great Hall at St Bart's Hospital, this is a golden opportunity to visit the space to enjoy our 'Piece of Mind' series, with readings and music in this serene space. Yume has been touring these works in Japan in recent months and this proves to be a beautiful, polished performance.
