Samantha Ege

Samantha Ege pursues separate careers as a performing pianist and academic musicologist which combine in her championing of under-represented composers – hence this programme of little-known works outside the standard repertoire but meriting attention. Ege has appeared in concert at the Barbican and made two discs that explore some of the music heard here, helping to raise Florence Price’s growing profile. She is, in the words of a BBC Music Magazine review, an ‘accomplished and absorbing guide’. She has a new CD called Black Renaissance Woman scheduled for release in 2022.
