  1. Four orchestral songs (1915) - Dora Pejacevic
  2. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D minor Op 47 - Jean Sibelius
  3. Symphony No 1 in D, 'Titan' - Gustav Mahler

The programme begins with four beautiful songs by one of Croatia’s most renowned composers. Sibelius, a violinist himself, exploited all his knowledge of the instrument in his dramatic and atmospheric concerto. Mahler’s first symphony journeys from a magical, hushed opening to a jubilant conclusion, and shows the young composer excitedly exploring the full range of musical expression.
