Commotio return for their first live performance since December 2019, to the welcoming warmth of St John the Evangelist Arts. Guest director Will Dawes has collated a scintillating programme of choral music celebrating the very best of contemporary choral music, and the lesser known works of 20th Century composers such as Warlock and Howells. Whitacre and Tabakova combine ancient plainsong in luscious contemporary choral settings, whilst Miskinis represents silence with minimalist brilliance. From meditative Tavener and Wallen, to the unapologetically Christmassy Chilcott, Warlock and Frances Hoad, Commotio invites you to start Advent with a choral celebration.
