The Braid Group (soprano, viola and guitar/mandolin) - debut concert

The London debut of The Braid Group, a trio focused on the highly melodic, beautiful works of Welsh composer David Braid.

Consisting of highly versatile soprano Sophia Brumfitt, virtuoso violist Lowri Thomas, and guitarist/mandolinist/composer David Braid, this unusual and highly intimate instrumentation makes for a unique musical experience. Their repertoire includes settings of texts from a wide selection of poets including Philip Larkin, Michael O’Dea, Shakespeare, R S Thomas, Ho Hsiang-ning, Liao Chung-K’ai, and García Lorca.

They will also present a selection of duos for viola and guitar, viola and mandolin, and some songs with just mandolin and voice.
