Postponement annoucement:

The committee of Cardiff Bach Choir have taken the decision to postpone our concert of May 9th. We do hope that we will be able to reschedule this programme in the summer. For up to date information look on our website and Facebook page

A richly varied programme of 20th century choral music featuring the ever-popular Carl Orff's dramatic setting of twenty four early 13th century poems, Carmina Burana. This is contrasted with Britten's six Choral Dances from his opera Gloriana, which was composed in honour of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Bob Chilcott's five movement cantata sets poems as diverse as 'Composed upon Westminister Bridge' by Wordsworth and the anonymous 'London Bells' in which a syncopated version of the tune 'Oranges and Lemons' can be heard. An exciting evening of choral music accompanied by piano duet and percussion.
