Rowan Cello Quartet is an ensemble of Polish origins established in 2018. Adam, Joanna, Alicja and Jakub first came into public attention while performing together in a concert series during the Krakow Cello Spring Festival in 2018.

Rowan Cello Quartet’s mission is to unite and inspire audiences from all walks of life. The cello, having a very broad range from bass to soprano register, is particularly suited to form a quartet of four identical instruments. Passionate about music in general and the cello in particular, the members of the Rowan Cello Quartet want to share their enthusiasm and energy through this very particular chamber ensemble. Adam, Alicja, Joanna and Jakub are continuously developing their skills, studying at conservatoires considered as a ones of the greatest in the world: the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Each member is an accomplished soloist and musician, and brings a unique voice to the ensemble. By uniting their experiences, they create a distinctive sound and unanimity of expression.

The repertoire is not particularly known but it does nevertheless include some jewels which deserve to be discovered. The ensemble is particularly interested in discovering and performing chamber works of the 20th and 21st centuries. The Rowan Cello Quartet is dedicated to share the warm vocal quality heard exclusively from four cellos performing together. The ensemble continues to expand the chamber music repertoire by performing works by Tansman, Werner, Bacewicz, as well as Rossini and Haydn.
