Timothy Easter was born and educated in St Albans. He studied with Geoff Symon, Peter Dyke, Kevin Bowyer and is continuing his studies with Jeremiah Stephenson. His passion for the art of improvisation took him to Paris, where he studied with Naji Hakim. He has a keen interest in transcribing music for the organ; in particular the music of Erik Satie.

As a freelance recitalist, Timothy has performed in many major churches and cathedrals across the UK, including Liverpool, Chester, St Edmundsbury, Blackburn, Truro and Winchester Cathedrals, as well as several appearances at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow. Recitals during 2020 include St Mary Redcliffe and a return to Ayr Town Hall.

Away from music, Timothy has a keen interest in real ale and is an active member of Campaign for Real Ale, mostly on the stewarding team at beer festivals.

Recent recital performances include Hexham Abbey, Marylebone Parish Church; St Chad’s, Shrewsbury; St Giles, Pontefract; along with the Cathedrals of Bangor, St Edmundsbury, and Bradford.
