Lunchtime Recital - Cobalt Piano Trio

Cobalt Piano Trio - formed of violinist Muriel Oberhofer, cellist Rowena Taylor and pianist Julian Chan - began playing together in September 2018, when all three joined the Royal Academy of Music as undergraduates. Over the last year they have had coaching sessions with David Smith, Michael Dussek, Adrian Brendel, Diana Ketler, and Peter Mezo, and have performed in the Piano Trio Day at the Royal Academy in 2018, as well as in other small scale concerts. Competing in the ’Harry Isaacs and Max Pirani Prize’ at the Royal Academy, they received ‘Very highly commended’ for their performance of Franck’s Piano Trio No 1. Over the course of the next year they have several concerts planned, where they will perform works by Mendelssohn, Franck, Shostakovich, Smetana, Saint-Saëns and Beethoven.
