  1. Piano Trio in C major Op 29 - Dora Pejacevic
  2. Piano Trio No 7 in B Flat 'Archduke' Op 97 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Two extraordinary piano trios side by side:

The late romantic highly expressive Trio in C major Op 29 by the Croatian composer Dora Pejacevic, a member of the Pejacevic noble family. She left behind a considerable catalogue of 58 opuses (106 compositions), including songs, piano works, chamber music, and several compositions for large orchestra. Her Symphony in F-sharp minor is considered by scholars the first modern symphony in Croatian music.

After the interval you will hear the crowning masterpiece of Beethoven’s cycle of piano trios, the celebrated Op 97 in B flat major, the 'Archduke' Trio, still regarded as the greatest of all works for this combination of instruments.
