Monmouth Choral Society perform music of exuberant and ecstatic praise, setting biblical texts in both sacred and secular contexts. Bach’s energetic and sparkling Magnificat gives full expression to Mary’s joy, gratitude and wonder at the news that she is to give birth to the Messiah. Handel’s anthems for the Coronation of George II in 1727 provide an unforgettable selection of some of his finest music.
