St Asaph Choral Society presents a performance of Handel's tuneful anthem 'O praise the Lord with one consent' and displays the choir and soloists to great effect. The concise setting of the Te Deum written for the Empress Marie Therese is a thrilling work for choir and orchestra and he sets the words with real imagination, culminating in an exciting fugal section on the words non confundar in aeternum (let us never be confounded). The Nelson Mass is one of Haydn's finest settings, full of emotion and sparkle displaying a dazzling soprano part as well as compelling choral and orchestral scoring.
