The London launch of the second album from the combined trombone sections of Black Dyke Band and the International Staff Band of The Salvation Army (ISB).

Under the Citadel Promotions label, the trombone players launched their first album ‘Cross Flourishes’ in 2018. The album received enthusiastic reviews from around the world and became an instant success. The amazing sound of eight trombone players from two of the top brass bands in the UK was just awe-inspiring.

In appreciation for saving the life of the then bass trombone player of Black Dyke, Adrian Hirst, the trombonists donated all profits from the Cross Flourishes album to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

In May 2019, the Black Dyke and ISB trombone players entered the recording studio again, along with other trombone friends including the Grimethorpe Band section. 16 trombonists, under the baton of Wing Commander Rob Wiffen, put down numbers such as ‘Three King’s Swing’ and ‘Nessun Dorma’ as well as three arrangements from the amazing Tutti’s trombone album, including the title track ‘Lassus Trombone’.

Profits from this second album will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

At this London launch concert, the trombones will play pieces by composers such as Ball, Sousa, Ballantine, Wiffin and Bulla as well as a previously unheard work by William Himes.
