On an Overgrown Path celebrates the diverse musical heritage of eastern European countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Hungary. This tantalising evening combines traditional music passed down through the centuries with classical repertoire that has been influenced by a myriad of folk-infused flavours; from the pre-medieval sounds of Greece, Turkey, India and Egypt to the ‘art music’ of Brahms, Bartok, Kodaly and Enescu.
