Two of today’s great artists, known for their performances together on disc and in leading halls and festivals the world over, perform songs by Schubert and Schumann, together with Mahler’s glorious Rückert Lieder. They conclude tonight’s programme with Wagner’s astonishing Wesendonck Lieder, the last of which, ‘Traüme’ (‘Dreams’) served as a study for his opera Tristan und Isolde.
