Toby Spence is widely regarded as one of the finest tenors appearing on the world’s stages.

He has sung with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, the Paris Opera, English National Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Real, Madrid, Theater an der Wien, and the Hamburgische Staatsoper, and at the Salzburg, Aix-en-Provence and Edinburgh festivals. On the concert platform he works with Sir Simon Rattle, Andris Nelsons, Thomas Adés, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Semyon Bychkov. Tonight he is joined by Joseph Middleton, recently described in Opera Now as ‘the perfect accompanist.’

“This was certainly a concert of rare intensity...Spence was in strong and confident voice...He was absolute master of the texts, and at every point feeling and meaning carried the songs forward.” The Telegraph on Toby Spence at Wigmore Hall
