The first concert by the Welsh Chamber Choir, at Cornerstone in Cardiff. The choir is committed to performing music ranging across the classical repertoire, as well as Welsh choral new and old. Beginning with a light-hearted look at love from Renaissance Italy, the choir will also perform German Romantic classics, Welsh folksong arrangements, some meaty Russian Orthodox-inspired motets, and premiere a setting of The Lord’s Prayer by Welsh composer Gareth Treseder, before finishing with three beautiful and joyful arrangements of American spirituals.
