And much more.......
'Tchaikovsky meets the Beatles' is the best introduction to this delightful concert by St Joseph’s High School Symphony Orchestra and Band. These highly talented students have won praise throughout the mid-western United States and produce a sound that would do credit to many professional orchestras.
Grieg’s Peer Gynt suite and Gershwin’s Summertime are instantly recognisable, and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings never fails to bring a tear to the eye.
Combine these with some jazz, some swing and some of the best-known tunes from The Beatles, and you have the recipe for a perfect lunch-time interlude, in which Britain and the New World come together in an atmosphere of relaxation and easy listening in the glorious surroundings of Cardiff’s historic Banking Hall.
