  2. Die beiden Grenadiere Op 49 No 1 - Robert Schumann
  3. Youth and love, from Songs of travel - Ralph Vaughan Williams, arranged for SATB choir by Jim Clements

A vivid journey through song exploring expressions of war in music with National Opera Studio young artist Edmund Danon.

The programme includes George Butterworth’s lilting setting of AE Houseman’s poem, The lads in their hundreds, Schumann’s Die beiden Grenadier, a dramatic account of the return of soldiers from war, and an emotive story of a young man’s coming of age in Youth and Love from Vaughan Williams’s Songs of Travel.
