Carducci Quartet - celebrated for their mastery of repertoire from Mozart to Stockhausen - along with charismatic young cellist David Cohen, have been chosen to present the world premiere of a Cheltenham Music Festival cocommission by Gloucestershire-born Gavin Higgins. Inspired by the boundless reaches and minute details in the photography of Andreas Gursky, Higgins brings his boldly imaginative style to this new work. Paired with Schubert’s posthumously published String Quintet, which features some of his most profound and restrained writing, this recital is set to be a Cheltenham Music Festival highlight
