NYOS Jazz Orchestra - Miles Ahead

Some of the finest young bands in the world come together in a showcase of what could well be the future of Jazz. Hear Miles Davis and Gil Evans’s Miles Ahead and more played by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra, NYOS Jazz Orchestra and the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra.

Before the gig the groups will have been learning from members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, including Ted Nash, as well as New York trumpeter Tatum Greenblatt; a testament to Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and Wynton Marsalis’s ever-expanding mission of teaching young people democracy and freedom of expression through jazz and improvisation.
