The Elgar Chorale present Psalmfest. An evening of music based on the Psalms of David.

Psalmfest is a musical concert inspired by the Psalms of David including John Rutter’s Psalmfest, a collection of 7 of John Rutter’s psalm anthems as rich and varied as the original texts and, of particular local interest, the world premiere of A Festival Anthem – De profundis, a new work by our Musical Director and the Musical Director at Great Malvern Priory, Piers Maxim.

It will be a lovely evening of music by various British composers of the last 100 years, starting with short pieces by Elgar, S Wesley, Howells, Vaughan Williams and Berkeley followed Maxim’s De profundis. And concluding the night’s music is Rutter’s exciting Psalmfest. Professional soloists Aine Smith, James Atherton and Alan Fairs join the choir and Peter Shepherd is the organist.
