Since performing at the Wigmore Hall at the age of sixteen, Ryanhas played in many distinguished venues throughout the UK and abroad in Canada, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Recently awarded first prize in the Brant International Piano Competition, fourth prize in the Dudley International Piano Competition, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship and the Carnwath Scholarship, Ryan is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Ronan O’Hora and Martin Roscoe. Ryan graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a first-class BMus (Hons) and was awarded the Alfred Clay Scholarship for achieving the highest mark in an undergraduate final recital. He also won the RNCM Piano Recital Prize as well as the RNCM Concerto Competition, subsequently playing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No 1, with the RNCM Symphony Orchestra in the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Ryanwas awarded first prize in the Mark Ray Memorial Prize, the Chopin Prize, the Shirley Catterall Award and the Marjorie Clementi Memorial Award. He was also a recipient of the Yehudi Menuhin English Speaking Union Scholarship and as a result was able to attend the prestigious Piano Masterclass International Series at Banff Arts Centre in Canada. ?His previous teachers include Helen Krizos and Seta Tanyel. He has also studied alongside Bernard d’Ascoli, Eugen Indjic, Jonathan Biss, Kathryn Stott, Michel Beroff, Murray Perahia, Nelson Goerner, Noriko Ogawa, Pascal Rogé, Paul Badura-Skoda and Richard Goode.?Ryan, a Boise Foundation Scholar 2017, is extremely grateful to the Fergal O’Mahony Foundation, the Haberdashers’ Company, Help Musicians UK, The Musician's Company Carnwath Scholarship and the Noswad Charity for supporting his studies.
