  1. Coriolan Overture Op 62 - Ludwig van Beethoven
  2. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Op 61 - Ludwig van Beethoven
  3. Symphony No 7 in A Op 92 - Ludwig van Beethoven

“I am the new Bacchus, pressing out glorious wine for the human spirit”. Ludwig van Beethoven never pulled his punches – but until you’ve heard his Seventh Symphony in full, heart-pounding flight, you’ve never known just how intoxicating music can be. And that’s just the climax to a whole concert devoted to Beethoven at the world-conquering peak of his game, as Julian Rachlin directs the English Chamber Orchestra in the psychological drama of the Coriolan overture before taking up his violin as both soloist and director in the great Violin Concerto – possibly the loveliest music even Beethoven ever wrote.
