Cambridge University Orchestra are very excited to welcome Sir Mark Elder as guest conductor for an unmissable end-of-term concert. Corpus Christi alumnus Sir Mark Elder is the music director of the Hallé Orchestra, and is joined by Sergio Castillo-Lopez, the Hallé's principal clarinetist, for Debussy's Rhapsody for Clarinet. The programme opens with Schreker's shimmering Kammersymphonie, a chamber symphony for 23 instruments that premièred a century ago in 1917, and closes with Brahms's epic Symphony No 1. We are extremely fortunate to be joined by such a distinguished guest conductor, and hope you will join us for what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
