  3. Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen (How lovely are thy dwellings), from Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) Op 45 - Johannes Brahms, arranged by the composer for piano 4 hands, soloists and choir
  4. 18 Liebeslieder-Waltzer, for 4 part choir and piano 4 hands Op 52 - Johannes Brahms
  5. Vårnatt, from 2 poems by Oscar Levertin Op 30 - Wilhelm Stenhammar

Following their great sell-out success last January in Colyer-Fergusson Hall, Canterbury Choral Society is glad to be returning with a varied programme of works for choir, soloists and two pianos in Love, Fate and Legend. The main feature will be the Liebeslieder (Love Song) Waltzes by Brahms. Equally engaging will be the Swedish composer Stenhammar’s Spring Night, songs from the Rig Veda (Hindu texts) for women’s voices by Gustav Holst, and Schubert’s enchanting Gebet (Prayer). An opportunity to hear Canterbury Choral Society in a more intimate setting and bringing new repertoire to our members and audience.
