After the huge success of our last two family concerts, we are delighted to return to the Victoria Rooms for our third this Sunday, 15th October, at 4pm. We hope that the earlier start time makes it more family-friendly!

The theme is birds and animals, with a particular emphasis on birds. Whether that is a magpie (Rossini), a swan (Sibelius) or a goldfinch (Vivalid), or perhaps the vibrant Firebird from Russian folklore, as depicted in Stravinsky's suite of tunes from his ballet, there is sure to be a bird which captures your imagination! Of course, there is a competition between two swans, as one of the most famous parts of Saint-Saens's Carnival of the Animals is the swan. We welcome back Miranda Krestovnikoff as our narrator, who will explain a little about each of the animals and also the tale of the Firebird.

To help entertain our younger guests there will also be a bird-themed quiz, so please pack your thinking caps!
