Powerful works from the world's greatest classical composers writing for the violin, show the violin in both partnership with the piano and in solo performance.

Edmund Jones started his performing career with the Northern Sinfonia and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras before being appointed leader of the West Riding String Quartet, resident at Leeds University in 1970. He has also made many appearances in recitals with piano, making his Wigmore Hall debut in 1974 and has performed most of the violin concerto repertoire with orchestras in the North of England before moving to Oxfordshire in 2005. Edmund leads the orchestra for Oxford Proms who give concerts in major Oxford venues in August and his interests include researching the autograph score of JS Bach’s solo violin works.

Jocelyn Freeman is developing a career notable in its integrity and versatility. Comfortable performing as song accompanist with Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins, Alfie Boe - soloist, recitalist and instrumental duo partner, she has been hailed as "One to watch" by International Piano Magazine, and has recently released her debut CD Night and Novelties: A Piano Recital for Kissan Records. Her engaging performances are characterised by colourful, intimate imagination and technical authority.
