Exploring the nature of inspiration and the role of mathematics in our understanding of the great composers, Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford, Marcus du Sautoy joins us to present a multimedia lecture that will astound music-lovers and mathematicians alike. With visual projections above the orchestra, discover the numerical blueprint that lies beneath the surface of celebrated scores before hearing how these patterns unfold in a concert performance of masterworks by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
