  1. Our Father, 'Otche nash' Op 9 No 3 - Nikolai Golovanov
  2. Otce Náš (Our Father, The Lord's Prayer) - Leoš Janácek
  3. Missa Brevis - Zoltán Kodály
  4. In the beginning - Aaron Copland

For our first concert of the season, we find inspiration for our music from Russia, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and the United States. The centrepieces of our concert are Kodaly’s expressive Missa Brevis and Copland’s scintillating setting of the opening of the book of Genesis, and these are offered alongside two contrasting settings of the Lord’s Prayer: one by Janácek, for choir, organ and harp, and a real jewel of a version by the Russian conductor-composer Nikolai Golovanov. Please join us for an uplifting evening!
