Ensemble Perpetuo are a collective of highly talented musicians who play a wide variety of chamber music, often in unusual places. The string trio was formed in 2015 by Fenella Humphreys, Cara Berridge (who has played in Clitheroe previously) and Cara's brother Andrew. Cara cannot make it this time and we welcome Christian Elliot, along with Fenella and Andrew.

Fenella's playing has been described as 'alluring', 'unforgettable' and 'a wonder' by the press and she achieved a remarkable double-double-double earlier this year when her recording "Bach 2 The Future2" achieved double five stars for both performance and recording in both the Gramophone and the BBC Music Magazine as well as both magazines' Recording of the Month. Fenella has played in many venues in the UK and also overseas including Finland, Germany, Australia and Korea and has recorded for the BBC, ClassicFM, DeutschlandRadio, ClassicFM Australia, Canadian TV and Radio Korea. She also has had works written for her by eminent British composers such as Cheryl Frances-Hoad, Gordon Crosse, Sally Beamish, Adrian Sutton Piers Hellawell and Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies. She plays a violin by Guarneri of Venice (1695-1762).

Andrew Berridge grew up in Leeds, learning the violin from Age 5. He started at the University studying Law before transferring to music. He won a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of music for both violin and viola, winning prizes for the viola. He joined the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in 2003 as co-principle viola. Since, he has played as principle viola with the RLPO, RSNO and SCO as well as chamber music. He is now a member of the Scottish Ensemble and teaches viola and chamber music at the Royal Conservatoire Scotland.

Christian Elliot is principle cellist with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and also plays with the Zehetmair Quartet and the Phoenix Piano Trio. His early studies were with his guitarist father and he took his first degree at McGill University in Montreal, subsequently studying at the RNCM in Manchester.
