  2. Symphony No 3 H 299 - Bohuslav Martinu
  3. Symphony No 3 in C minor, 'Organ' Op 78 - Camille Saint-Saëns

A return visit to Stockport for conductor Wyn Davies. Wyn lives locally but conducting takes him, literally, to all corners of the world. In addition to appearances in the UK, he is a regular in places like New Zealand.

Asked what he would like to do with the orchestra this time he didn’t miss a beat before choosing his favourite, Martinu. If you’re not familiar with it, you will enjoy getting to know it before settling in for the fantastic second half show-piece of Saint-Saëns’s Organ Symphony featuring Richard Brocklehurst on the fabulous Town Hall Wurlitzer.
