Discover the magic of the masterpiece composed by Arnold Schoenberg, Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), in a concert by the Liverpool String Quartet. On 15th July, at 7.30pm the Liverpool String Quartet will perform this stunningly evocative work in the beautiful setting of Liverpool's Nordic Church. The programme will also include Boccherini's String Quintet 'Musica notturna delle strade di Madrid', inspired by nocturnal street scenes of Madrid in the late 18th century, and featured in the film Master and Commander, and music from the 'father' of the string quartet, Joseph Haydn, with his String Quartet No 66 Op 77 No1.
