Following the fundraising Birthday Concert at St Paul's Church in April, £36,000 was raised enabling the acquisition of a magnificent 1990 Steinway concert grand piano. The piano was originally chosen by Alfred Brendel for the Queen’s Hall Edinburgh, which has cared for it ever since and where it has been played by many of the world's finest pianists. For the Steinway's inaugural performance at St Paul’s Knightsbridge, we are delighted that Howard Shelley will be joining the Thames Chamber Orchestra to direct and play Beethoven's Emperor Concerto – a wonderful work to showcase the instrument. The programme also includes Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro overture and Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony, conducted by Keith Marshall.
