A feast for the senses where music, image and voice interweave to create a spine-tingling narrative of war and peace. New suite of music from David Wilson and excerpts from Britten’s Billy Budd combine with powerful image projection by award-winning digital artist Barret Hodgson. Synchronised to the music of trumpets, piano, percussion, organ and voice, images play on the stones around the nave of the church and bring to life a powerful evocation of WWI by war hero and poet, Siegfried Sassoon.
Plus:- a special feature of poetry, memory and music from Nottingham Black Archive commemorates the stories of Caribbean men and women who served Britain in wartime - The story of a grandfather's forgotten WWI diary, with extracts read by his grandson - guest speaker, Josie Parkhouse and 'Hope for the Future'.
In this Armistice commemoration year, Fanfare for Hope is an inspiring event. More than a concert.
