Join renowned pianist, Daniel Grimwood, for an evening of sublime classical piano favourites in the stunning St. James’ Church, Piccadilly.
Relax in the glory of Beethoven's iconic Moonlight Sonata and a superb pair of pieces by the Mendelssohn siblings, Felix and Fanny. Enjoy the melancholic and dainty works by Fanny, complimented by the equally delightful and romantic Sonata by Felix. Accompanied by a stereotypically glorious night inspired Nocturne, and the archetypal glimmering and glistening of Chopin, all before a devilishly virtuosic Sonata by Glazunov, where its fiery and robust intensity rounds off an evening of sublime works for solo piano.
Described by Felix Aprahamian as "the finest all-round musician I have ever known", Grimwood is more than just a pianist. His interest in historic keyboards has lead him to perform on pianos of all ages, harpsichords, virginals and organs. As a musical polymath he has written for various publications and can occasionally be found at his desk composing or performing on the viola.
"His touch was so light that he almost let the piano play itself." The Independent
"He has all the virtuoso velocity and firepower, and then some" BBC Music Magazine
"Stimulating and revelatory in equal measure" The Telegraph
