This exciting young choir and orchestra led by dynamic musicians and educators who are at the top of their field, will enchant and delight you, performing music from across the continents and centuries. Works from Australian composers sit comfortably alongside music from the baroque, the twentieth century and arrangements of traditional English and French carols. Barker College will perform works by Australian composers Percy Grainger, Paul Stanhope, Dan Walker and Malcolm Williamson as well as Grand Duo by Giovanni Bottesini for violin and double bass, String Quartet no 6 (Allegretto) by Dmitri Shostakovich and Concerto Grosso op 6 no 8 by Arcangelo Corelli. Christmas carols from around the world will include People Look East by Paul Stanhope, How Lovely Shines the Morning Star, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Confidando esta la noche by Mexican composer Juan Garcia de Zespedes and Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day by John Gardner.
