Inna Montesclaros is one of the Philippines’ promising young pianists. She is a winner in both national and international piano competitions.
In July 2009, she was awarded Gold Prize at the 2009 Asia International Piano Academy Festival and Competition in Cheonan, South Korea, the Silver Prize at the 1st International Piano Competition in Hanoi, Vietnam, and the Bronze Prize and Sole Winner, at the 4th International Chopin Piano Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Inna was also First Prize winner in five prestigious Philippine piano competitions-- Third Rosario Picazo Competition, the National Music Competition for Young Artists, the Competition for Young Artists, and the Piano Teachers’ Guild of the Philippines Mozart Concerto Competition, and Piano Teachers Guild of the Philippines Beethoven Concerto Competition.
In 2017, she and violinist, Ada Witczyk won 3rd place in the Rising Stars Grand Prix Competition in Berlin, Germany.
She has performed with the major Philippine Orchestras, including the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Eugene Castillo, the Manila Symphony Orchestra II with Professor Arturo Molina, the Metro Manila Community Orchestra with Professor Chino Toledo, and the University of Santo Tomas Symphony Orchestra with Professor Herminigildo Ranera. She has also been the featured performer in various solo recitals and concerts around the country. Her most recent concerts include being presented in solo concert by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (July 2016), and a charity concert presented by the Lamdag Foundation for Women’s Projects, Inc. at the Insular Life Corporate Center Auditorium (July 2016). In June 2015, she was invited by El Conservtorio de Musica de la Universidad Mayor to be featured for a solo piano concert in Teatro Municipal de Las Condes in Santiago, Chile, for Temporada Internacional de Musica Clasica, representing her country, the Philippines. She has also made her orchestral debut in London at the Duke’s Hall Royal Academy of Music, performing Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the Hornton Chamber Orchestra in April 2017.
In her pursuit to deepen her musical knowledge, she has had the pleasure of receiving masterclasses from remarkable musicians such as Imogen Cooper, Sofya Gulyak, Dorian Leljak, Boaz Sharon, and many more.
Inna studied for two years in the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, taking up B.M Piano where she enjoyed the Sto. Domingo Scholarship, under the guidance of Dr Raul Sunico. She began piano studies at age 5 under Professor Cecile Basilio Roxas at the Sta. Isabel College.
In 2016, Inna completed her Bachelor of Music BMus(Hons) studies, graduating with a First Class with Distinction from the Royal College of Music in London, where she enjoyed an RCM scholarship, and a Herbert Howells and Thomas Fielden Scholarship. She was under the instruction of Professor Ian Jones, Deputy Head of Keyboard.
Currently, Inna is pursuing her Master of Arts in Performance from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she has the privilege of enjoying the Cosmina & Douglas Liversidge Award and the Alfred Knight Bursary. She was also the recipient of the Goetze Bequest Award. She is studying under the expert tutelage of Professor Ian Fountain.
