Miguel is studying at the Royal Academy of Music, in Martin Outram’s class- 2nd year Bachelor degree, where he was awarded a scholarship and the first prize in viola Theodore Holland competition. He has also worked with many conductors such as Trevor Pinnock, Pedro Carneiro, Joana Carneiro, Jean-Sébastian Béreau, Jean-Marc Burfin and Vasily Petrenko. Miguel was member of EUYO in 2016/2017. Regarding chamber music, Miguel was awarded two prizes in competitions. He has played for Doric quartet, Levon Chiligirian, Paul Wakabayashi, Martin Outram, Ian Brown, Mark van Wiel, David Smith, and Anna Tomasik with different ensembles. He won the 1st prize in 6 national competitions being Vasco Barbosa the one who gave the opportunity to play solo with Camerata Atlântica and the opportunity to record live for the national Portuguese radio. Miguel has been playing to many violists such as Nobuko Imai, Helen Callus, Dimitri Murrath, Igor Sulyga, Diemut Poppen, Harmut Rodhe, James Sleigh, Rachel Roberts, Matthew Jones, Jonathan Barritt, Simon Rowland-Jones.
Pianist and collaborative artist Malgorzata Garstka was appointed the Hodgson Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music for 2016/17 and will continue the position for 2017/18. She specialises in chamber music and piano accompaniment and the idea of creating a collective vision and cooperating with others to share experiences is something she values highly. She is the winner of the Johann Sebastian Bach Piano Competition in Gorzów Wielkopolski, the Friedrich Kuhlau Competition, and the prestigious Patrons’ Award at the Royal Academy of Music. Malgorzata has made her debut at the Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields. She received a Master’s degree with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Diana Ketler and Michael Dussek.
