This year our flagship Waterloo Chamber concert offers a feast of romantic classics and young talent. We are excited to welcome back Nathan Meltzer, the immensely talented 16 year old winner of the 6th Windsor Festival International String Competition, for his concerto debut with our Associate Orchestra. Under the direction of Michael Francis, a British conductor whose star is on the rise, the Philharmonia present a programme of music for which they are renowned: Sibelius’s dramatic Violin Concerto paired with the passion and desire of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony – a work which leads us to a triumphant conclusion via love, despair and sweeping waltzes.
