West 4 Sunday Series at Chiswick Town Hall, with licensed bar. Violin Songs: celebrated violinist Madeleine Mitchell plays classic pieces from her latest album. The concert with interval lasts approximately an hour and a half, after which the artists will be signing CDs at the special price of £10. Madeleine Mitchell is one of Britain's liveliest musical forces (Richard Morrison, The Times) and a violinist in a million (BBC Radio 3, 2007). Her latest album Violin Songs on the Divine Art label www.divine-art.com, launched at Mitchell's innovative Red Violin festival in Cardiff last Autumn, was selected as Classic FM's CD of the Week on release and as with Mitchell's other recent CDs, has garnered wide acclaim. A CD full of small joys, wodnerfully played. The Strad Jan 08. Chiswick Town Hall is a classic barrel vaulted wooden hall with stage and fine Steinway grand piano and very fine acoustics for chamber music. Complete with licensed bar, a friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced tickets this venue is becoming known by musical connoisseurs as west London's local alternative to Wigmore Hall. |
