In their programme Soli Deo Gloria, the ensemble diX deals with the choral works of Johann Sebastian Bach in a completely unique and fresh way. By compiling variations on famous chorales, culled from diverse compositions from various eras of Bach's oeuvre, it creates a new musical entity capable of combining artful cantata movements, archaic Organ fugues, virtuoso trios as well as pensive pieces, offering valuable insight into the working methods of the composer. |
